Garda Lake - Bardolino

The small town that gave its name to the well-known red wine is located on the south-eastern shore of the Lake. It is situated in the middle of the so-called 'Riviera degli Olivi' a picturesque hilly landscape dominated by vineyards and olive groves.

There are plenty of opportunities to sample the famous red wine and the excellent olives in one of the local wine-cellars. The pretty old town with its lakeside promenade offers something for every taste.

Particularly after sun-set the small bars and cafes are good places to meet up and watch the hustle and bustle of the lanes and squares. Many shops are open until midnight, a good opportunity for shopping and strolling after an excellent dinner.

Bardolino is situated on Lake Garda at the widest point half-way along the Verona side.

Its mild climate allows the growth of typical Mediterranean plants: olives, cypresses, oleanders, laurels, and vineyards prosper on the hills which surround the center, which stretches towards the lake with two characteristic projections, formed over the centuries by the two rivers.

In recent decades tourism has developed to support the traditional farming economy. Bardolino boasts about sixty hotels with an overall total of 4000 beds.

The realm of water sports, here the guest can also go on mountain bike treks, or go cycling, play golf or tennis, go horse riding, because the surrounding hills with their mild climate create the perfect landscape for panoramic outings throughout the year.
