Varese: a gastronomic itinerary
The province of
Varese, a border county and transit land, is characterized from the
geographic viewpoint by the variety of its landscapes: the north is immersed in
the green of the Pre-Alps, with the mountains as a majestic backdrop for a
central area rich in
LAKES and hills, while to the south the great Po valley opens up Northern
Italy’s well cultivated and fertile plains.
The territory’s singular conformation, offering panoramas of incomparable
beauty, is also reflected in the Varese gastronomy and in its typical
products: cheeses, cold cuts, wine and honey are but a few of the delicacies of
this province, products that to this day are prepared in true artisan style
according to age old traditions.
SKILLED RESTAURATEURS are able to prepare tasty dishes typical of the
Varese land, reviving traditional recipes of the Lombard cuisine, based on rice,
fish from the lakes, venison and polenta (corn meal). Following our suggestions,
we invite you to discover the flavors, places and the typical products that the
Varese province is able to offer.
Other products typical of the varese province:
