The most untouched Alps of Friuli
If you are dreaming of mountains as they once were, in Friuli Venezia Giulia you
will find out that such mountains still exist and are ready to welcome you...
Solemn or gentle landscapes, enchanted lakes, incredibly peaceful quality ski
runs where you can ski in complete quiet... And many different proposals among
which to choose according to your wishes.
Do you love
sport and nature? Then you cannot miss Piancavallo and
the Valcellina , where you will find a wide-ranging
and complete sport offer... Fascinating summer hikes for the whole family...
Fabulous landscapes in every season in the huge, 37 thousand hectares large
natural park of Friuli Dolomites, which even contains an exciting area dedicated
to large raptors... In winter cross-country and alpine ski with champion-slopes
acknowledged for international races, ideal also for snowboarders.
If you would like to combine sport, culture and wellness instead, the
Carnic area is the answer to your wishes: its magical mountains
(still inhabited by sprites, as the saying goes), food treasures, thermal
springs and archaeological sites. The thermal baths in Arta are open all year
round for you to enjoy a stay in the name of complete wellness. In summer you
can enjoy every kind of hikes and walks, as well as a large number of events
concerning old traditions and always enjoyable food pleasures... In winter the
main activity is skiing, on slopes for every level and for the whole family.
And if you are looking for the most majestic mountain, you have to reach
the area around Tarvisio, in the heart of Julian Alps. Here you
will find enchanted peaks (“discovered” by the mountaineer Julius Kugy between
the 19th and the 20th century), a lot of trekking trails and hiking paths, one
of the largest forests in Europe and real gems: the Fusine Lakes,
among the most fascinating places on Friuli mountains. In winter you can also
ski on a night slope and take the opportunity to sky “borderless” on the slope
system linking Italy, Austria and Slovenia.
